The 10 day layoff will cost the Ducks game 1 but since the Ducks have won the first 2 games of every series so far on the road i see a split in Jersey to take control of home ice taking care of buisness at the pond and wrapping this thing up in 6 games! if you would have asked me a week ago who i liked if they matched up i would have leaned towards NJ but ever since Brodeur's old lady caught him cheating took the kids and filed for divorse he has'nt looked focused, that goal he gave up yesterday was weak, add a o.t. goal at home in game 6 and the 3 goals against in game 5 the guys head seems to elsewhere. Now look at Jiggy and 12-2 recored and 1.22 GAA add in destiny and there you go DUCKS IN 6!!!

if i am to have a decent showing in the contest i need NJ.

here is the way i see it. this is a bad matchup for the ducks. EVERYTHING the ducks do - the devils do it "that" much better.

Jiggy is very good - but Brodeur is a tad better. ducks have a very solid "D" - but NJ's is a td better. offense-wise - i'd call them even. ducks PP unit against NJ' PK unit - edge NJ. ducks PK unit vs. NJ PP unit - HUGE edge to ducks - especially if Joe N is out for NJ. coaching matchup - burns' experience over babcock.

NJ SHOULD win this series. then again - detroit was -800 over ducks, and dallas was -480 (to start with), so the fact NJ is -180 shows the ducks are not a huge dog and can win. also - MAYBE there is something in the water in anaheim. first the ankles win the world series, now their "neighbors" across the street are playing for a title, too. maybe - just maybe - destiny is smiling on katella avenue in anaheim and maybe the ducks will win it.

all i know is that there is NO WAY i am betting against the ducks in this series. i'm NOT betting NJ, either. unlike last year where we had a great team against a fluke - and it showed in a 4-1 series win (although if carolina hold on to that late 2-1 lead in G3 and goes up 2-1, who knows how that series turns out).

this one has at least 6 written all over it - and i hope it does since i have tix for all 3 games in anaheim.

I have to give the edge to Anaheim here. The Devils & Ducks do have some similarities but based on watching every game these two played in the playoffs, I have to go with the Ducks here.

I think Marty will go down as one of the greatest goalies ever but in this year's playoffs especially of late, he just seems a little off as if his mind isn't totally there.

Meanwhile on the other hand we have Jiggy who quite frankly has been the best player in the playoffs bar none eventhough you don't hear enough about the guys playing in front of him.

I do agree with Winky for the most part that what the Ducks do well the Devils usually do better but based on who each team faced, the Ducks have shut down the better & offensively gifted teams so seeing the Devils next should be in a way easier for them to handle.

I've had Anaheim in every single round so I'm not changing now. I think the Ducks win this in 5 or 6.

this cup is tough to handicap both teams the ducks have knocked off detroit, dallas, and the wild while NJ did knock off ottawa you have a red hot goalie in jiggy playing for the ducks but on NJ you have broduer probly the best goalie out there right now.

jiggy reminds me of jon casey and that miracle run he had for the northstars back in 1992 red hot til they ran into super mario and the boys.

i think i will betting NJ -165 in the series because of experiance alone.
